Ruling on Gender as a Rating Factor in Insurance

The European Court of Justice ruled on the 1st of March that the use of gender as a rating factor in insurance will no longer be permitted from the 21st of December 2012. The ruling will result in car insurance premiums being increased for females and pension annuity premiums being increased for males.
